Although I’m not actively involved in this project, it is one I fully support and endorse. I feel it is another case of helping girls raise their country out of poverty.
Girls in communities in Cameroon are still unable to attend even primary school. More than 60% of these young girls are home because they do not have the means to attend school or have a normal life. Many as young as 15 already have children, many are married, many are exposed to sexual exploitation, trafficking, poor health care, all because they do not have an education.
The key to protecting girls from trafficking, prostitution and unwanted pregnancies is education and a small donation goes a long way to doing that. Our donations of any size can help. For example, $10 will sew a pair of uniforms a girl can use for a year, $50 will train five girls in computer skills and $85 will pay a girl’s school fees for a year. A larger donation, like $500, will buy text books for three classes of 100 students!!
A donation of any amount is a fantastic Christmas idea and this project is worthy of our support. Consider helping the girls of Cameroon lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty they are in. Believe me, you will feel good about yourself if you do.
