It has been another great year for Keep On Climbing. Our 6th Annual Keep On Climbing Golf Tournament in August generated $2400 for the elite service dog program at Wounded Warriors Canada and $200 for a similar program at Canadian Canine.
In October, we hosted our 4th annual Education for Africa Variety Show at Greenfields Pub in Barrhaven. In total, $2,585 was raised at the show, which will be help fund a sanitation project in Tanzania. Since the Canadian federal government matches funds raised 8:1, that’s $23,265 for the project.
I’m very happy to say that since we have started raising money for Tanzania and Wounded Warriors, we have managed to forward $131,195 to Plan Canada and Wounded Warriors Canada for our various projects.
On a personal note, I was very happy to release my third book, The Vanishing Wife, on November 1. Shortly after, I was awarded a Canada Book Award for contribution to Canadian publishing on the merits of the Vanishing Wife.
Planning has already started for the upcoming year with the golf tournament and Variety Show being scheduled. A number of book signings are planned for January. It promises to be another good year but in the meantime, I would like to thank everyone for the contribution to our projects and for buying my books. I couldn’t do all this without you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Now for some stats to chew on:
